History

In 1891, homesteaders who had mostly immigrated from Germany established Peace Lutheran Church of Plato Township.  Now over 100 years later, a rich heritage of service to God continues as a legacy of faith for the believers who worship at this church.  Current membership includes people who live in Northwest Iowa and Southeast South Dakota.  The church is affiliated with LCMC, Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ.

OUR MISSION and APPROACH

Peace Lutheran Church exists for the purpose of bringing individuals to faith in Jesus Christ, and to provide an atmosphere for the nurturing of that faith.

Those who attend Peace Lutheran Church find a warm and extended family atmosphere where each worshiper is known by name. The messages of sermons, Sunday School and Bible Studies are based on the Holy Scriptures, with an emphasis on how God’s message relates to our world. This environment allows growth in faith for all who attend, whether they are new to the Christian faith or have walked with the Savior their whole lives.

BENEVOLENCE SUPPORT

We support a wide array of missions and charities locally and worldwide, leaning on the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” -Galatians 6:2
